8 weeks

I can hardly contain myself!  The timing couldn't be more perfect.

Yes, I realize this sounds like an announcement of pregnancy on my behalf.

Ha ha, gotcha! 

There are only 8 weeks left of clinic this semester....8!!!  I can't believe how quickly the last year of my life has passed by.  I'm still in awe of all the things I've learned about treatment approaches, theories, medical and educational settings, different disorders, laws, devices, tests and procedures, etc in speech-language pathology.  Seriously, my brain in PACKED! 

And the best part of it all?  Being able to help others.  I know, from personal experience, how it feels to not be able to share your thoughts, feelings, or ideas.  I know how scary that can be.  So while one of my goals is to be able to help others communicate functionally, a bigger (and better) goal of mine is to help them gain the confidence to do so. 

Next January, I will start my two externships in the pubic schools; I'll finish them May 4th.  Then I'll walk in the graduation ceremonies, take the Praxis, and be on my way to a real job!  Bring it on!
