Art

This past semester I've been taking Humanities 202 as my last GE. I was not excited that I would be taking a course full of freshman and sophomores, much less a class where the subject matter did not appeal to me in the slightest. Last semester's class of Humanities 201 was somewhat of a disaster, so I didn't expect much better from this course.
Here is how I felt before the class.
But, I was pleasantly surprised. Dr. Soper is an incredible, fun teacher and he livened up the material to appeal to those (people like me) who did not want to be in the class. We acted out Hamlet in an hour, read some crazy funny pieces of literature, and explored all facets of the humanities.

Here is how I felt during the class.

Surprisingly, I did quite well on all quizzes, papers, assignments, and exams. I was actually enjoying the class!

Here is how I felt after the class.
Now that Humanities 202 is over, I can finally admit that I've learned to appreciate art. While it still is not my chosen choice of profession or topic of conversation, I can discuss art in a sophisticated manner and actually have things to add when various pieces of art or artists are brought up. In fact, I kind of like art. Okay, I really like art.

To Do

Days until...

...classes are over: 1.

...finals are over: 9.

...matriculation: 11.

...I'm an official Bahama Mama: 18.

...unemployment: 32.

*I will admit I learned the word "matriculation" from Twilight. And I'm slightly ashamed to do so.

Yoga

Brooke and I need to buy yoga mats. Why, you ask?
In Salt Lake, most apartments are not furnished, which means Brooke and I will not have beds, dressers, a table, couches, lamps...ANYTHING! Yoga was our solution to this open-space problem. You see, Brooke owns a TV and DVD player. That will be what out apartment consists of until we decide to dish out some dough at the DI. To appease our lack of furniture, we are buying yoga mats and picking up some yoga DVD. It's gonna be great. Feel free to join us at 5:30 a.m. starting mid-August in a beautiful Avenues basement apartment still to be determined.
Until, prepare yourself for the greatness of summer.

Friday Night In

Today is Friday! Today is Friday! It's my favorite camp day!
It's not Monday, it's not Tuesday, it's not even Wednesday!
It could be Thursday, but it's not because...
Today is Friday! Today is Friday! It's my favorite camp day!

As I sit on my plush, green couch watching season 8 of Friends with my roommate, Tiff, I can't help but think about how happy I am to be staying in on a Friday night. The chow mein is warm and spicy, the chocolate milk is cold, the cell phone is quiet, and the thermostat just right. It's been a crazy week full of 20-page research papers, shuffling 6th graders across campus, and 5-hour long naps. Spending a night in is the perfect way to unwind and relax...just in time for General Conference!

Up goes the hair, on go the pajamas, off comes the make-up, and on goes the latest rental from Redbox. Speaking of Redbox...any suggestions?
