One through Eleven Re-did

I have an update on my Top Eleven things I'd like to do at some point in my lifetime. Can you guess what it is?

I don't really want to eat caviar. It's always seemed gross and I'm not sure what came over me to make me add that to the list. From now on, my Number 2 thing to do is...

Drum roll...

Run a HALF marathon!

You're probably wondering why I chose a half-marathon rather than a full-marathon. Well, I don't really enjoy running on a consistent basis-I'd much rather do a marathon on the elliptical. Anyway, I figure I can start now with a half-marathon and if I really like it that much, I'll do a marathon further down the road.

Now don't get your hopes up too much-I have my entire life to do this half-marathon, which means it will not be happening anytime soon. However, I will be signing up for 5Ks and 10Ks on a regular basis to keep me in shape and working toward the half-marathon so if you're interested let me know!

*first 5K is the Utah Valley event on June 12. Cost is $19.

One through Eleven

At some point in my life, I want to:

1. Go skydiving.
2. Eat caviar.
3. Snorkel in the ocean. (Without fear.)
4. Write a book. (Published=not required.)
5. Meet the Prophet. (Meeting Pres. Monson would be cool, but I'll settle for whomever is the prophet at the time.)
6. Attend a U2 concert. (June 3, Rice Eccles Stadium...anyone in?)
7. Graduate with a Master's degree. (I think I'm on my way!)
8. Get married. (In the temple, of course.)
9. Donate my hair to Locks of Love.
10. See a bear. (This one's for you, Brooke.)
11. Travel to the Mediterranean. (Give me some Greek lovin'!)

Art

This past semester I've been taking Humanities 202 as my last GE. I was not excited that I would be taking a course full of freshman and sophomores, much less a class where the subject matter did not appeal to me in the slightest. Last semester's class of Humanities 201 was somewhat of a disaster, so I didn't expect much better from this course.
Here is how I felt before the class.
But, I was pleasantly surprised. Dr. Soper is an incredible, fun teacher and he livened up the material to appeal to those (people like me) who did not want to be in the class. We acted out Hamlet in an hour, read some crazy funny pieces of literature, and explored all facets of the humanities.

Here is how I felt during the class.

Surprisingly, I did quite well on all quizzes, papers, assignments, and exams. I was actually enjoying the class!

Here is how I felt after the class.
Now that Humanities 202 is over, I can finally admit that I've learned to appreciate art. While it still is not my chosen choice of profession or topic of conversation, I can discuss art in a sophisticated manner and actually have things to add when various pieces of art or artists are brought up. In fact, I kind of like art. Okay, I really like art.
